Happy Fall!!

There is so much to catch up, so this blog might be kind of all over the place!

You might notice by the picture, that we added a new member to our family. His name is Emmitt. He is a 2 1/2 year old lab. He is really great with the kids and they love him. His previous owners just didn't have the time for him. Our two cats aren't sure what to think, but they are all getting used to eachother. We also now have a goldfish. This was a reward for Joseph (and before we got emmitt). We are on Bob 2, Bob 1 and Goldie didn't make it. First Bob, then Goldie. It's been interesting. I think one was sick when we bought him.

Joseph is playing his first sport. He is playing Fall Soccer. He had his first game last Saturday. He played so hard and did well. We are very proud of his effort and what seems to be natural talent for soccer. He made a goal at his first game! I wish I could have captured the look on his face after he made it. It was very sweet. He was happy, proud and suprised all at the same time. :)

Joseph started Second grade last week. It is much calmer at home with me and Jackson. Jackson and Joseph are really good kids, but seem to get crazy and wild when together for too long. ;)

I am so excited for Fall, I'm looking forward to nestling in with my family and lighting candles. :)

Last thing is I'm really looking for motivation to start kicking this weight. Any encouragment or tips would be appreciated. I know what to do, but feel like I'm just wandering around with no direction or plan. I feel as if life is just passing me by. It's like I'm a spectator in my own life.

Well, I am going to post some pictures and then try to keep up on my blog. :) Hope you are all happy and well.

It's been a while!

Wow time really flies dosen't it! Here we are in the middle of Summer. Right now our days consist of sleeping in, watching cartoons, going to the park, riding bikes and playing video games.

For the 4th we went to La Grande and stayed with Brent and Donna at their new house. We had a great time. The boys were in heaven!! They got to feed goats, ride a tractor, swim around in a not so hot hot tub, and best of all play with their cousins. It was HOT on the 4th and I decided it would be fun to develop a migraine. Luckily I felt ok in time to go with everyone to watch the fireworks. :)

Right now the most exciting thing for me is that our homeowners association is putting up a fence for our backyard! It was be a very small yard with a slope on one side, but I'll take what I can get! Right now it's open to everyone and we just have barkdust and shrubs. I'm looking forward to having grass. It will be nice for the boys. I will post pictures when it's done.

Ok now I have one less thing to feel guilty about, my blog is updated! :)

Cousins!!

We were able to take a weekend to go visit family in La Grande and Waitsburg a few weeks ago. The boys had a great time visiting all of their cousins!!! It was nice being around the ones we love even though it was a short visit. :) I forgot to take pictures in La Grande, but made up for it in Waitsburg. :)

Yay for Joseph!

We just found out yesterday that Joseph was accepted into the challenge/honors program for next year! He tested for it a few months ago. It was hard for me to wait for the results, but I did ok. :) The most exciting part for me (and the least exciting) is that he gets to stay in the same school. We moved this year, so technically he's supposed to go to a different elementary school next year. Truman (his school) happens to be one of the schools that the challenge program is based out of. The reason it's also the least exciting.. this means I have to continue to drive him to and from school. :(

So.. is it ok for me to also be worried??? He is excelling now, but what if he really struggles in the challenge program? I guess those are questions I can ask at the open house. When I had him tested.. I wasn't sure either, but I figured they know what they are looking for, so might as well give it a shot. :)

I have some pictures to post. So I will probably be blogging twice in one day. :)

St. Patrick's Day

Joseph wanted to do something special for St. Patricks day, so we made a "green" dinner. :) Just thought I'd share some pictures.

Kittens!!!

we welcomed 3 new little family members to our home over the weekend! We had suspisions that our Cat might be pregnant. I was in denial, but Joe was pretty certain. Well, Joe is always right of course! On Sunday our cat was acting really strange. My Mom and Kenny were over for a visit. They saw her bulging belly and weird behavior and told us we should probably make up a bed for her because it looked like she was about ready to have babies. We found a box and put an old sheet it in. We then tried to find her. We couldn't find her anywhere! I was worried she might have slipped outside. Joe went to take a second look. He peeked inside of the boys closet and found her in the boys laundry hamper. He went to pick her up and discovered that she was already in the process of having her first kitten. Needless to say, he put her back in the hamper. :) About 10 hours later she had her second kitten and we woke up Monday morning to see a third kitten snuggled next to the first two in the box we had moved them to.

So.. I have no idea how to take care of kittens. I keep leading the Momma to the box so she'll feed her little babies. She does a pretty good job, but seems to still want to be around us. She's actually laying down on the floor by my feet as I type. I'm so paranoid that something is going to happen to her babies! I'm glad they have eachother so they can stay warm. I was worried when there was just one and the Mom would keep leaving! Ok.. now that I've written a novel about cats, I suppose it's time to publish this post! :)

I might be posting some pictures of our house soon. It's clean, so I need to hurry and take some pictures before it gets cluttered up again!

Painting

We've finally finished painting our living room and our "cowboy" room (you'll see why we call it that soon). I'm going to post finished pictures as soon as my house is picked up! We are in the process of finishing our bedroom. Currently half of the bedroom is painted. :) Jackson loves to "help" us paint. He has helped in all three rooms so far. Next up is our kitchen. I think we'll take a little break from painting for a few weeks though. I really want to paint our hallways, but that is going to take a lot of convincing for Joe. :)
